As my roommate and I are both trying to save money living in the big city (Boston typically earns the dubious distinction as one of the most expensive cities in America) we’re looking for inventive ways to enjoy a sandwich. I’ve found some favorites in my tried and true Foster’s Market cookbook. This one is distinctive and delicious – and easily adaptable. Enjoy!
What you’ll need
Whole wheat bread
Crispy Bacon (turkey bacon works just fine)
Mayo (if you like mayo!)
What to do
Spread herbed cream cheese, found here, on two slices of whole-grain bread. Top the herbed cream cheese with crispy bacon, sliced tomato, sliced cucumber, sliced avocado and alfalfa sprouts (or use mustard, radish, sunflower or pea sprouts.) If you like mayo, substitute mayo for one of the sides of cream cheese and garnish with basil.
